Today I am seventeen weeks. Yippee! We had a very short doctor's appointment today. I had a blood test and we listen to the baby's heart rate. 150-155 bpm! The baby sounds strong and is developing just right. Though my hands and feet are swelling slightly, my blood pressure is really good. All in all, the doctor said everything looks great.
Last night I noticed (for the first time) a dark line below my belly button. The line kinda freaked me out because it seem to have come out of nowhere but David claimed he saw it last week. Its called a linea nigra, which is Latin for black line. (You would think they would come up with a more technical name than just black line.) Anyway, it is perfectly normal and usually goes away after pregnancy. I guess that says something about how big I'm getting when I can't really see below my belly button. Thankfully, I can still see my feet.
Anyway, the Doctor was supper excited about the newly developed linea nigra. I kinda like it too. As long as I don't get stretch marks, then everything is fabulous. I'm fighting them with all the coco butter my body can stand.
